Preparing the Chicken for BBQ
Start by selecting fresh chicken pieces — thighs, breasts, or drumsticks work well. Season the chicken with your favorite BBQ rub, ensuring an even coating for maximum flavor. Let it marinate for at least 30 minutes, or up to a few hours in the refrigerator, to deepen the taste.
This step ensures your chicken is flavorful and tender before cooking, making it perfect for the grill or the Ninja Foodi Cooker Pro.
Cooking with the Ninja Foodi Cooker Pro
- Set the Ninja Foodi to the ‘Air Crisp’ function at 400°F (200°C).
- Place the marinated chicken in the Cooking Pot, ensuring they are in a single layer for even cooking.
- Cook for 20-25 minutes, flipping halfway through, until the chicken is golden brown and reaches an internal temperature of 165°F (75°C).
- For extra smoky flavor, brush the chicken with additional BBQ sauce during the last 5 minutes of cooking.
This method combines the air crisping power of the Ninja Foodi with the ease of outdoor grilling, giving you crispy, juicy chicken every time.
Serving and Tips for Outdoor Enjoyment
Let the chicken rest for a few minutes after cooking, then serve alongside grilled corn, fresh salad, or your favorite summer sides. Garnish with chopped herbs for a fresh touch.
For best results, use the Ninja Foodi to keep the chicken warm if you’re preparing multiple dishes for your outdoor feast. Pair with cold drinks and enjoy the summer sunshine!
Cleaning and Maintenance
Once cooled, clean the Cook & Crisp Basket and inner pot with warm soapy water, ensuring all residues are removed. The Ninja Foodi MC1101 is designed for easy cleaning, making it perfect for summer cooking sessions.
Regular maintenance will keep your appliance functioning well for many outdoor cookouts to come.
